More Retirement news

The retirement party was great. We started off with everyone going swimming and Dad getting all dressed and ready to go. Kristie's husband Bob got permission from his dept to come to Clark's retirement dressed in the Orange County sheriff's uniform. It was fun to see our two policeman looking so spiffy.  We went down to the city building at 1:00 p.m. to set up. I put up his motorcycle uniform from the Seattle Police Dept and I made him a scrapbook of all the years of dealing with my policeman. Angie bought the book and my friend and I scrapbooked. I am not a scrapbooker, so she did a ton of work for me.  Then at 1:00 the color guard posted the colors in full ceremony.  The chief came and gave a little speech about how wonderful Clark did in all his 43 years of service. He is the longest policeman on record for the dept.   It was nice to hear the words from his captain and the chief telling everyone how he gave 100 percent up to the day he left the dept. Then Clark spoke and told everyone how hard this was on him to retire.  It was very sweet.  After that Stephanie came with her beautiful cake. WOW, what a cake. It was all made out of chocolate.  She is certainly talented. The kids had fun seeing alot of old friends and family.
After that we went to our house for a supper out in the backyard. The kids had fun throwing rocks in the pond, until Clark put a stop to that. We had family pictures and we had some grouchy kids. It was the only day we could do our pictures though and so hopefully something will turn out. I do want a family picture.   The whole day was wonderful.  I know there were a few things that I missed, but most of it turned out terrific.  Congratulations Clark.

More Retirement

Well, this new blogging pictures is a little confusing to me. I hope I catch on, or you might just get a bunch of pictures without captions.  The picture of Stephanie with a candle and cake is the picture I took of Kristie's birthday cake. Bob and Kristie came in on Wednesday and we celebrated her birthday on Thusday.  It was  a fun time for everyone.  Stephanie made a cake out of CHOCOLATE FROSTING and then put 3 balls of yarn for our Kristie knitter. Kristie loves to knit and makes fantastic things for everyone- socks included.  Krisite was so surprised  and very happy.  Give that girl some Graham crackers and everyone dug in. Super frosting too. Steph makes everything from scratch.  The police cake is TOTALLY edible and the vanilla cake was scrumptious.

Retirement Again

Our retirement party was a great success. The kids all had fun with their siblings and the grandkids had a blast. We had good food, friends and the most exciting news---- Clark Made It.
He actually enjoyed himself and is doing fairly well.  If his knee would stop hurting from his operation, we would be in sweet shape. Oh well, they say in another month we will be on easy street. Hope that is true.  Here are some pictures from our fabulous weekend with the kids.  Stephanie made this fantastic cake.  Yes, this is all CAKE.  She made a likeness of Clark sitting on these bad guys. Clark always said that he would retire when they would give him his car,,,, so she did it for them. WOW, he had such a hard time cutting it.

Reunion

Well, I hope you are all set for a fun weekend. We have lots planned. For any of you that would like to join us, we will be meeting at 12:00 at the city annex building to set things up. Then the party begins at 1:00 until 4:00. I have a feeling that some of the kids will want to go to the hotel and relax at the pool. This should be a fun day. Hope to see you there. Love Mom

Family TImes

Ok, so this is going to be our first post. Wow, what my kids have taught me. I went to visit Grandma and Cliff in Seattle.  Grandma isn't doing to well because of her mouth surgery. Carole and the kids came up for a couple of days. It was fun to see them.  Emma is staying with mom till the end of summer. Mom loves her and so that will be fun for Mom and Cliff.  I didn't see much except the house, because Mom was to sick to go anywhere. The yard is beautiful though, and so I hung out on her hammock and I didn't mind at all.

Dad is OFFICIALLY RETIRED. Yes, you heard right. It happened last week on Wednesday. He realized that he had two days that he hadn't taken, (that figures, how many times have I wanted extra days to add to vacations).  Anyway, he was through on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. The last thing he did as a Police Officer was to go to the Melalucca Firework Dinner and then direct traffic. Angie and her family came this year to the dinner and then Angie and I hung out to watch dad direct his traffic. Very entertaining to say the least. Dad had to get people to see his traffic madness.
